Drug-Free ADHD Therapy in Brooklyn and Staten Island
Many Brooklyn and Staten Island residents struggle with ADHD — Dr. Nicole Gullo is here to help.
Currently, most conventional chiropractors focus on goals like decreasing muscular spasm, increasing range of motion, and reducing pain, often with the help of various therapies. This type of care falls under the category of symptom reduction/management. At Synergy Chiropractic, our unique approach is called Tonal Correction. Unlike conventional Chiropractic, Tonal Correction focuses on the tone of the spinal cord/nervous system, specifically as it relates to the structure of the spine and its connective tissues. Unlike most health providers who simply aim to remove symptoms and restore you to where you were just before you sought help, the purpose of Tonal Correction is to address the underlying issue(s) so your brain and body adapt and reorganize, so you can function at your best, and continue to do so.
In this context, tone is the amount of tension in the spinal cord and nerves. To better understand this, consider a guitar string. A guitar string directly attaches to the very top and bottom of a guitar, and can only be tuned from these locations. Similarly, the spinal cord directly attaches to the very top and the very bottom of the spine, and the amount of tone, or tension in it is primarily affected by these spinal regions.
Just like an out of tune guitar string or a warped guitar creates abnormal and undesirable sounds, too much tension or tone in the spinal cord and nerves disrupts the ability of the brain and body to function normally, leading to many possible symptoms (secondary conditions).
The goal of Tonal Correction is to address the underlying cause of abnormal tone and tension in the spinal cord and nerves, and to address specific structures of the spine. This adverse shift in tone and structure is known as Tonal Displacement.
